In Nekojima, “The Island of Cats” in Japan, an electricity network is developing to supply the various lively districts of the island. The installation of electric poles becomes more complex due to the narrowness of the territory and its curious population of cats strolling on the cables.

Nekojima is a wooden game of skill and dexterity in which you have to keep an entire installation in balance. Players take turns placing or stacking denchuu — 電柱, or electrical poles — respecting the locations without any hanging cables touching. Be careful not to be the one to bring down the structure. This game requires reflection, concentration and skill.

In competition, the player who knocks down the structure loses.

  • Diceless Play: A resolution mechanic that emulates Texas Hold ‘Em, using standard playing cards played on top of community cards that represent the obstacles you overcome. Optional tables do use d6s. 
  • Builds and Releases Tension: Each turn, more cards are added that cannot be resolved, overwhelming players until the cards needed to overcome the obstacles are dealt, giving relief only to start the cycle again.
  • Play-to-Survive: Inspired by play-to-lose TTRPGs like Ten Candles and The Zone, but survival is possible for some characters during their epilogue. Final fates are determined by the cards remaining in your hand in the final scene, combined with community cards left unresolved to make the highest scoring poker hand.

The changes started subtly: cravings and intrusive thoughts. But they soon built into noticeable physical changes, followed by a complete change in perception. It isn’t clear what you will become, but you can no longer deny that you are becoming something.

Transformation is a Kafkaesque, body-horror, solo RPG. Take on the role of an unfortunate soul whose body and mind are becoming something they cannot yet imagine. As the game progresses, you will change, taking on both physical and mental monstrous changes. You’ll journal about the changes as you struggle to understand what’s happening and relate your understanding to those around you.

You are trapped in isolation with a companion. Your situation makes dealing with the transformation even more complex. Your companion won’t understand what you are going through, but to be fair, neither do you. As the change progresses, you begin feeling less like yourself. Your thoughts and emotions are not your own.

Mechanics

Transformation plays over seven in-game days. You use a standard deck of cards to determine what changes your character experiences and what events you encounter each day.

You divide the deck into three separate decks: clubs, spades, and then all the red cards together. Then, shuffle each deck and set it close by. Each in-game day has a new table of possible changes and events. The Clubs deck determines the changes you experience, while the Spades deck determines the events you encounter.

You have access to resources known as Mementos and Bonds. Mementos remind you of your humanity, while Bonds represent your relationship with your companion. Spending these can help you maintain control of your humanity and push an event toward a positive outcome. Be careful, though. Your Mementos and Bonds are limited, and there are few ways to replenish them.

Changes and events start small but escalate quickly. As your change progresses, your companion might embrace your new form, reject it, flee in terror, or even become your victim

Seven Murders Til Midnight takes place over seven in-game days. You’ll use a standard deck of playing cards to determine the scene of each murder, the clues left by the killer, the events of your investigation, and the mental anguish your character experiences as they attempt to track down and capture the person behind these horrible crimes.

As you investigate each murder, you’ll write a journal entry from your character’s point of view, describing the scene of the crime, what you find, and what you intend to do next.

You have access to two resources, known as Clues and Sanity. One will help you as you navigate the twisted events surrounding your hunt for the killer. The other will diminish as you face the horrors they have perpetrated.

The ending of each investigation will be based on how much of each resource you have when the clock strikes midnight on the final day.

Sandbag is a trick-taking game of avoiding tricks, manipulating trump, and reconfiguring your hand of cards. In each of the three rounds, you configure your basket with two face-up cards; the most common color among all players' cards is the trump suit. Each trick, players either play from their hand, play a sandbag (to sluff, that is avoid winning the trick), or play one of their opponents' face-up cards. During the round, it's possible for the trump to change as the number and kind of face-up cards are exchanged for face-down sandbags. Five rocket cards worth negative points are in play each round, and you want to win these while avoiding the sandbag cards because in the end the player with the lowest score wins.

Sandbag is a highly interactive trick-taking game for 3-6 players that excels at higher player counts!

Meet Me Where I Am invites players to enforce their own boundaries while exploring emotional and physical intimacy. It reminds players that they do not need to be “fixed” to enjoy their bodies.

The game is played in four parts: Safety, Dark Talk, Silent Communication and Aftercare with a second discussion of safety and limits at the start of Silent Communication as well. In Safety, players establish their boundaries and go over their safewords and any other safety tools they use. In Dark Talk, players invoke the feelings of sexting and sharing their secret desires with the dark by sitting facing away from each other while negotiating a sex scene. In Silent Communication, players practice non-verbally asking for and giving or refusing consent while exploring each others’ bodies, demonstrating how they want to be touched, and paying attention to their partner(s) reactions. And in Aftercare, players process their emotions, check in with each other, and decompress together.
